Racially/Ethnically Diverse: The Main character is a Person of Color (Black, LatinX, Guyanese, Asian etc.)

Religiously diverse: These characters follow or have a background in a religion other than Christianity.  While their active level of involvement in the religion may vary, the character’s religious beliefs are an important element in the story.

LGBTQIA diverse: Main Character identifies as something other than Straight. This could be, lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex, asexual, Pansexual, or the character is figuring it, and the character is important to the story

Ability diverse: These characters are differently abled. These can be physical, mental, or emotional (Wheelchair, Anxiety, depression, ADHD, etc.)

Own Voices (Authors):  Own voices” means the writer is part of the marginalized group they are writing about. So if the Main Character is Black, the writer is Black. If the Main Character is Queer so is the Author.
